Our History
Created to respond to the needs of Long Island’s older adults, Jefferson’s Ferry, a not-for-profit, full service Lifecare retirement community, is affiliated with the Mather/St. Charles Health Alliance. The Alliance represents the culmination of years of planning, bringing together two of Long Island’s most trusted health care organizations that have been serving the community for more than a century. This Alliance has enhanced current medical services, streamlined operations and created a center of excellence to invest in innovative new programs to better serve Long Island’s north shore communities. The collaboration for Jefferson’s Ferry is an innovative response from these two distinguished health care organizations to provide retirement options and progressive health care services that promote peace of mind in a secure and active residential environment.

Mission Statement
The Board of Directors of Jefferson's Ferry is committed to serving older adults by providing an active lifestyle within an all-inclusive lifecare retirement community. The lifecare concept promotes dignity, privacy, individuality and independence for each resident. This is accomplished through a caring environment with concerned staff providing security and peace of mind through a focus on resident service.
